Hi - tech a strong support to foreign trade growth

Recent statistics by Chengdu Bureau of Commerce show that the rapidly growing hi-tech products export is playing a greater role in boosting foreign trade of the city. The statistics say Chengdu achieved an import and export volume of USD11.88 billion in the early fi ve month of the year, the largest among cities in centra and western China and an over 16% increase year-on-year. Of th total volume, the hi-tech products export obtained a remarkable growth of 71.24% and reached USD2.38 billion, with computer and telecommunications as the fastest growing sectors.
